Each week pupils participate in a wide range of sporting and physical activities led by our Physical and Mental Health and Wellbeing lead. Some of the activities that pupils can take part in include volleyball, cricket, tennis, boxing, disability sports and archery. The focus is on developing pupils’ ability to work as part of a team, develop their confidence in different activities and improve their physical activity levels.
Pupils also travel to a local swimming pool for a weekly swimming lesson led by trained Kirklees Swimming Instructors. The aim is to develop pupils’ confidence in the water and for all pupils to be able to swim at least one length of the pool unaided. For pupils who are more confident in the water, they may work towards developing their swimming stamina and complete lifesaving challenges.
